At the conclusion of Week 2, eight teams find themselves tied for first place. This week's ledger features the usual side-league round-up and weekly statistics. Also, the end-of-season review is now available on YouTube. Many thanks to all those who made a donation using the link featured in the last ledger.

After six rounds, CamLeslie has pulled away from the pack on 5.5/6 in the open section. In the U1800 section, applause is practising good social distancing with a 6/6 score.

In Season 11, after four rounds, Scrooge is half a point ahead of the pack.

Rapid Battle

Things are heating up as Season 10 of the rapid battle enters its later stages. In the last edition of the ledger, I forgot to mention there are two divisions. The first division is heading towards the semi-final stages, while in the second division the quarter-finals are well underway.

Quarantine Liga

Update from @moistvonlipwig:

The Lichess4545 League team is participating in the biweekly “Quarantäne-Liga“, a blitz team battle with more than 30 divisions in total. If you want to help us get promoted please consider joining and playing one of the tournaments.

After we comfortably managed promotion from division 9A ten days ago, we turned up to division 8B to face among others the ChessHobbits99 team (lead of course by the same streamers who did the season 21 game reviews). After a promising start, we unfortunately got caught and fell out of the top 3 required for promoting. Congratulations to the ChessHobbits99 team though for continuing their march up the leagues.

This meant we were playing in division 8B again last Thursday. It turned out not to be our day, we never looked like gaining promotion, and in the end finished 5th, at least we were never in trouble of relegation.

The next tournament will take place later today, as always at 18 UTC. If you want to help us finally get back into the 7th division please join here: https://lichess.org/tournament/txclpsrd

If you don't want to play yourself but want to watch instead, feel free to check my stream on twitch.tv/koedem

End of Season 21 Review:

The end-of-season review is now available on YouTube. Moistvonlipwig has provided a short paragraph about their experience of the review:

Last week on Saturday the game review for season 21 of the team league took place.

I was joining the ChessHobbits99 (FM Marco Riehle and IM Adrian Gschnitzer) who looked at the most interesting game of each of the eight boards. If you enjoyed the stream or the videos below please consider donating here: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8pSxWSsyrJ (though in these uncertain times please only donate if you are sure you can afford to!)

The ChessHobbits usually stream in German, so the English language proved to be a bit of a challenge! Nonetheless the analysis was reportedly understandable. For the analysis itself, the ChessHobbits took turns presenting the games with each one giving some fresh analysis of the moves / positions. Meanwhile, I tasked myself to give a bit of background information about the league and, more importantly, slow the ChessHobbits down a bit when they would go into some high-level discussions (not sure I always managed to do this).

Lessons were learned so if we do another such stream at the end of this season we know what to do differently. For starters, we will probably split the next review into two streams. We were visibly exhausted towards the end and this affected the analysis.

Still the feedback was mostly positive, and helping doing the review was an interesting experience, so I hope to do it again after this season. In case you missed the stream, the featured video is of the board 8 match. The other videos are available on the ChessHobbits YouTube channel and also in a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb0LllBW6UHPVTPuxUlibc39YUFcAhIrp
