State of the 4545 League

by @kostasvl

This week is a crucial week for the individual leagues of LoneWolf and 960, as it is the last round for both leagues. In the same time the second round of the 4545 league is going on, so things there are still kind of blurry. After round 10 in lonewolf, in the open section, @alex_slow was a full point ahead of @Leverkuhn and @alms but win wasn't certain. He drew though his last game so his officially the winner of the open section. But things for the next 2 places are not clear yet. In the U1800 section, after round 10, @Hoikka was half point ahead of 3 players. He won his final game though, so he is the winner of the U1800 section. For those that participated in the 13th season of Lonewolf please take take the time to fill out a brief end of season survey. This will be your opportunity to make suggestions on changes you would like to see and when Season 14 should start. https://lakinwecker.typeform.com/to/AYiDHa

In 960 League after round 7 there were currently two leaders (@MoiRon and @Somethingpretentious) half point ahead of the bot @Vetinari_Computer. Players were not paired together as they had already played a game in round 4 (which they drew) so everything was possible! Win could be decided on tie-breaks. However MoiRon drew his final game, while @Somethingpretentious won it, so he is the winner of the 5th season of the 960 league.

Also a Blitz Battle will be hosted on Sunday 17:00 UTC. Registrations will open 15:00 UTC. For those that haven't played before, it is an 8-round swiss tournament with time control 3+2, which lasts no longer than 2 hours.

The crazyhouse league founded by @Zher0 will be trialing a switch from an individual to a team league next season. Season 4 will start on Monday and everyone who registers has a chance to get onto a team, although there are no guarantees. As well as the lichess4545 regulars, we have a handful of new zh players joining us, some world class, so this should both be fun and a great opportunity to improve your game. The time control will range between 5+5 on the top boards to 10+10 on lower boards depending on players preferences. Team selection will be conducted at the beginning of week 1 in a live selection with board 1s choosing board 2s in reverse order of strength (or chosen for them by @Zher0 if they are absent) and so on. You can register here: https://zh.lakin.ca/zhteam/register
