Lichess4545 Ledger

Issue #056 - April 11, 2018

State of the League

Congratulations to Season 11 Lichess4545 champions Sexy Spidergoats who won on a nailbiting tiebreaker! Full standings can be found here.

News:

Due to some early feedback in the survey, it's clear people are unhappy with the slow scheduling of their opponents! We take this seriously and as such are reducing the period for first contact from 48 hours to 24 hours. This first contact must include 3 times across 2 different days as per the rules. If your opponent fails to do this, please bring it to the attention of your captain and your opponent's captain. Thank you, and happy scheduling!

The entirety of the survey results will be published on the next Ledger. Stay tuned.

Unfortunately, a number of players were found to have used engine assistance this season. The moderators would like issue a reminder that this is a engine-free league. Individuals who are found to be using engine assistance forfeit all games and are removed from our Slack group. We take all accusations extremely seriously. We are dedicated to promoting an interesting, engine-free community that is interested in learning and enjoying chess - not cheating it. Thanks for all your support, and remember, you can reach out to any of the moderators if you feel suspicious of anyone's play.

Quick updates on the other leagues:

  • #board-championship:

    by @colwem

Last season I found myself in the unfortunate position of placing within a hairs breadth of the top of my board without having had the opportunity of challenging either of the players who finished above me.  This season I am seeking to rectify this through creating the #board-championship series of tournaments.  It's a 2 week, 2 round single elimination tournament that will be taking place between the end of season 11 (now) and the beginning of season 12.  The top 4 finishers on each board who wish to participate have been invited.
For more information and to follow the action join the #board-championship channel! Have Fun!
