Chess960 Rules and Regulations

The chess960 moderators will generally use the LoneWolf rules, however obviously with different tournament settings with respect to e.g. time control (20+20) and variant (chess960). Other exceptions to the LoneWolf rules are when the pairings are released and the period of time players have for making initial contact with their opponent.  Chess960 pairings are released on Tuesdays at 18 UTC. Players have until Thursdays at 18 utc (48 hours) to offer their initial availability to their opponent.  Players then have until the following Tuesday at 18 UTC to schedule and finish their game.

We will also generally err on the side of leniency compared to LoneWolf moderation and rules.
For example, we do not require active team league or LoneWolf players to have an established chess960 or even any chess960 rating.
However, contrary to this general leniency, we will generally never approve players completely new to Lichess4545 for chess960 only. Please register for one of the other tournaments on the website first. We will only make exceptions to this general rule in rare circumstances at our own discretion.
